Revealed: Busiest Dubai Metro station
Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), revealed that the number of users of public transport means (Dubai Metro, public buses, marine transit modes, and taxicabs of the Dubai Taxi Corporation only) in the first half of this year has hit 165,527,687 riders.
Dubai Metro's Ramadan train schedule
During the month of Ramadan the frequency of trains servicing Dubai's Red and Green Line will be reduced, the Roads and Transport Authority has stated. Dubai Metro’s Abu Baker station vacated after morning 'incident'
An incident at the Abu Baker Al Siddique station on Dubai Metro’s Green Line has left many stranded this morning, with the station being cleared, commuters said. The Roads and Transports Authority said it was looking into the incident, with no further clarification on what occurred.

“Stress is also another factor, driving in traffic for long hours gets me stressed out and sometimes I even start getting headaches. On the other hand when I go by Metro I get to walk from the station to the building that I have my meeting in and I can even stand in the Metro if I wanted too which in my opinion is much healthier than being in the same position for hours.”

The leading French technology firm Thales is looking to replicate its success with the Dubai Metro in Hyderabad, which is planning a modern metro system. Thales, which provides India with the crucial defence technology, is now offering its expertise in civilian technology, inclu-ding signalling, telecommunications and ticketing, for the Hyderabad Metro project.
