Dubai Municipality is collaborating with Dubai Police to monitor bad weather conditions aimed at improving safety on the roads and at sea.

Hertz UAE has today announced the opening of a new car rental location at Al Maktoum International Airport, Dubai World Central (DWC), the venue for the Dubai World Expo 2020.

The Galleries is an hour by car from Abu Dhabi and directly accessed from Sheikh Zayed Road or via the Jebel Ali Metro Station, linked to the complex by a shaded walkway.

The RTA plans to stretch the Red Line of the Dubai Metro by making a connection from Jebel Ali to the Expo land in the same area through Al Khail Road.

The 14-branch network in Dubai Metro is spread in both red and green lines with seven branches in each line. In Red Line, branches are located in Khalid Bin Waleed, Jebel Ali, Emirates Tower, Emirates, Rashidiya, TECOM and Union stations. In Green Line, branches are located in Airport Free Zone, Oud Mehta, Etisalat, Salah Al Din, Stadium, Al Gubaiba and Al Fahidi stations.

"The integration of services offered earlier by Emirates Sky Cargo and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) into Dubai Trade's online portal will benefit all our customers from the supply chain sector, as well as unregistered visitors to our website," Al Bastaki said. Starting with 80 services in 2006, Dubai Trade launched as an independent department to be a home for over 800 services accessed by over 57,000 registered companies.

The developer of a Jebel Ali property project has pronounced itself pleased that the Roads and Transit Authority (RTA) has provided direct access to the Jebel Ali Metro station. The RTA opened what was meant to serve as an emergency access to the south side of the stop after a number of tenants at The Galleries complained they had no access to the station within walking distance.

An estimated $11 billion, 1,500-kilometre railway project being planned across the UAE, will connect ports in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and boost the country’s logistics industry, a top official said. “Both Abu Dhabi Ports Company and Dubai Ports have confirmed they will be rail connected,” Richard Bowker, chief executive officer of Abu Dhabi-based Union Railway, told a three-day Mena Rail Project 2010 conference here on Tuesday.
