Country will have advanced, eco-friendly railway system
The speed of the metro within Doha would reach 80km/h, and increase to 130km/h outside Doha. The metro lines are classified into three types. The red line extends over 177km across around 36 stations. It connects the north and south of Qatar linking Mesaieed City, New Doha International Airport, Musheireb, Lucile, Al-Khor, the North and Ras Laffan.

The Saudi Gazette reported that the Makkah Construction Project includes 4 metro lines and 182 kilometers train system with 88 stations that will link Makkah districts to the Grand Mosque. Makkah Mayor Dr Osama Fadl Al Bar expects that Makkah train which will be linked to the Holy Sites Train will be operational two years after work begins on the project.

Saudi transport ministry launches Jeddah metro
Saudi Arabia yesterday unveiled plans for a Metro system in Jeddah, just as construction work begins on the equivalent network system in the capital. The Metro will consist of three lines: one will connect the Old Makkah Road to Sari Road; one will run along Prince Majed Street from King Abdul Aziz International Airport to the site of the old airport, and a third along Palestine Road.
