UAE Exchange opens the 14th branch in Dubai Metro
The 14-branch network in Dubai Metro is spread in both red and green lines with seven branches in each line. In Red Line, branches are located in Khalid Bin Waleed, Jebel Ali, Emirates Tower, Emirates, Rashidiya, TECOM and Union stations. In Green Line, branches are located in Airport Free Zone, Oud Mehta, Etisalat, Salah Al Din, Stadium, Al Gubaiba and Al Fahidi stations.
Dubai's Metro fares change track
On Saturday, the RTA increased the number of zones from five to seven before the rollout of the 23-km Green Line, expected by the end of this month. The new Zone 6 now covers Al Karama, parts of Bur Dubai, Satwa and the Business Bay area - most of which were part of Zone Five before. The new Zone 7, which now covers Lahbab, Dubailand and parts of Aweer, was not plotted in Dubai's old public transport network.

Dubai Metro's most awaited element — the Green Line — will open its doors to passengers this year, thereby completing the Dh28 billion Metro project, as part of a comprehensive integrated public transport system.
RTA to ease gridlock in business districts
Use of private vehicles in the Central Business Districts (CBDs) of Dubai is likely to be limited once the Green Line of the Dubai Metro becomes operational after August next year, said a senior official. "The move is part of our plan to ease traffic congestion in the old city which is the hub of commercial activities and has always witnessed massive traffic jams," said the official at the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
Mohammed bin Rashid launches Dubai Metro's green line experimental operational phase
The Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in the presence of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, launched the Dubai Metro's green line experimental operational phase. Sheikh Mohammed boarded the metro from the Dubai Healthcare City in a trip that took him to Khalid bin Waleed, Al Ghubaiba, Al Ras and Al Ittihad Stations, where the green and red line meet. He continued his trip from Al Ittihad station to Police Headquarters Station to the last Etisalat Station in Al Qusais district.
