Pay by Nol or credit cards on Dubai taxis
Payment of taxi fares will become hassle free in the next couple of months as the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) enables Nol card and credit card payments, Gulf News has learnt. A senior RTA official told Gulf News that all taxis have been upgraded already and the new payment modes will be introduced by April.

Free train and bus travel as Dubai marks Public Transport Day
Nol cardholders will be able to zip around the emirate for free today on the Metro, buses and water buses for the Roads and Transport Authority's third annual Public Transport Day. Festivities include a street party on Al Seef Road between 5pm and 9pm, and RTA employees will hold quiz shows at bus shelters and Metro stations to award commuters with iPads, bikes and Nol cards.

On the other hand when I go by Metro I get to walk from the station to the building that I have my meeting in and I can even stand in the Metro if I wanted too which in my opinion is much healthier than being in the same position for hours.”
New barriers placed at Rashidiya metro car park
Barriers have been placed at the park-and-ride car park of Rashidiya metro station in Dubai. The barriers are aimed at preventing misuse of the car park developed for public transport users. From September 9 the car park serving the red line metro station can be entered with the same NOL card used for Dubai metro, says Ramadan Abdullah, director of the Rail Operations Department of RTA.
