The Rail Agency, Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), has launches a new service for inquiring about the timing of the Dubai Metro services in different times through short text messages to be sent to 5223. The service is coordinated with the Public Transport Agency via the timetables of the Journey Planner (Wojhati); an exercise that saves much time and effort of customers, rendering the metro transit experience highly smooth & accessible.

The Rail Agency, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), has held its yearly employees gathering, as part of its policy and plan aimed at mustering efforts and advancement. The event examined the achievements made by the Agency in 2012 and the key plans it seeks to implement in the forthcoming future.

The Customers Council, Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), has recently held its 36th meeting with customers of RTA Rail Agency in order to screen their constructive ideas aimed at enhancing the performance and improving the business conduct in the interest of all stakeholders.

Adnan Al Hamadi, CEO of the RTA's Rail Agency, said the retail units offered "unique" business opportunities to companies. "They are expected to attract a wide spectrum of international brands, and accordingly boost the existing partnership between the RTA and private sector businesses," he said.

"The Rail Agency of the RTA is all set to chalk out a comprehensive plan to close the existing gaps at the Metro stations and trains in a bid to improve the quality of services for special needs people," said Adnan Al Hammadi, Chief Executive Officer of the Rail Agency. He said the new initiatives was being launched in light of the study conducted by the Rail Planning and Development Department to assess the basic requirements of special needs people while using public transport.

Dubai Metro has served 9,872,545 passengers since it was launched last September, according to latest statistics compiled by Rail Agency of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Ramadan Abdullah, director of Rail Operation Department at RTA Rail Agency said in a statement that the Mall of the Emirates Station was still the most attractive to both commuters and tourists, recording 1,578,447 passengers; accounting for 16 percent of total passenger count.
