Dubai Metro scoops award for privacy standards
The Dubai Metro has been commended for privacy by users as well as the organisers of regional awards for excellency rendering it to scoop the ‘Best Transport Project Quality Award’ in the Middle East. The award ceremony was held by the Middle East Business Intelligence (MEED) in the GCC countries in recognition of the excellent projects in the region.
250km per hour Superbus
The first Dutchman in space has unveiled an innovative, sustainable and super-fast public transport system capable of speeding commuters to their destination at 250km/hour. The Superbus was unveiled at the World Exhibition of the International Association of Public Transport in Dubai in April by Dutch astronaut Wubbo Ockels, who was a mission specialist on the Challenger and the first Dutch citizen in space.
Siemens in talks to sell Inspiro metro

Metro-II to connect Western and Central suburbs
The ambitious project of Metro Line – II would be the first mass transit project in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region which would directly connect different suburban parts – Western suburbs and Central suburbs. The proposed line for the Metro II would cover Charkop (situated at North-West), Bandra (situated at West and towards Central suburbs) up to Mankhurd.

Downtown Jebel Ali's Metro station saw a dramatic increase in passengers at rush hour this morning, with hundreds of passengers swapping road for rail in support of Limitless' Metro Monday initiative. Among them were 400 people who work at The Galleries at Downtown Jebel Ali, Limitless' flagship project in Dubai. On an average day, 200 Galleries tenants travel by train.
Metro's midnight run before bed
When the clock strikes midnight and the rest of Dubai is asleep, the Metro's maintenance brigade goes into action. Dozens of engineers and workers check the track, fix faults inside coaches and repair train cables in the workshop. Some trains are guided into a light repair workshop and others are parked inside the Roads and Transport Authority's (RTA) sprawling Rashidiya depot. A few trains on side tracks off the main line are already scrubbed and cleaned for the next day.
