Dubai Metro station takes part in emergency drill
Last month saw a flurry of emergency services vehicles converge on Rashidiya Metro station. The drill was part of disaster preparation organised by the Emirate’s Crisis Management Team (CMT). Just two days earlier there had been an extensive workshop conducted to discuss this very issue. Members from the Dubai Police, Civil Defence, Dubai Municipality, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai Ambulance services and the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority were all present.

The Administrative Services Department, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), has recently held a campaign titled "Health Pulses," in collaboration with the Prime Health Group. The campaign, which will run up to the end of December 2013, attracted a cohort of specialists and experts in various health fields to help promote awareness among employees to avail themselves of the medical tips and instructions on offer.

RTA’s annual initiative to promote greater use of public transport, saw an overwhelming number of people using RTA’s facilities, 27 per cent more than an average weekend and well beyond its target of around 800,000 people.
