The Dubai tram, which is expected to provide accessibility and mobility within Dubai — particularly in the new leisure and business districts of the emirate — will undergo testing for three months from July end to October before it commences operations by November this year.

DHL has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dubai Airport Freezone (DAFZA) with the aim of boosting operational performance for both companies through exchanging vital information and best practice.

The exhibition, which runs until next Thursday 12-06-2014, includes an extensive array of distinguished events, and features the participation of national leaders and international experts who will share their leadership experiences in corporate management, and review the best administrative practices in a number of government institutions.

At the start of the visit, Ibrahim Al Haddad, Director of Commercial and Investment, RTA Strategy & Corporate Governance Sector, welcomed the visiting delegation in the context of exchanging knowledge and experience with a view to pushing up the quality of deliverables to the highest standards of quality and excellence.

Detailing the move, Engineer Maitha bin Udai, CEO of RTA Traffic & Roads Agency, said: “The opening of the first trucks stops is part of the traffic safety plan set for highways; the implementation of which started at the end of last year and continues up to 2016 encompassing the construction of several truck stops/restrooms.

A bus driver has been jailed for three months for groping a passenger although he pleaded innocent and said that he touched her unintentionally.

An accident on Emirates Road left 13 people dead on the spot and 14 others injured. A bus carrying 29 Asian workers got in to the accident when the driver hit a truck parked on the hard shoulder.

“The number of Salik permits issued by the RTA for the disabled from 2011 to the end of 2013 amounted to 4591 permits. The RTA also issued to this category about 264 Blue Nol Cards from 2011 to 2013, 3217 parking permits, and 88 driving permits for the disabled,” said the Al Ali in a final remark.

The first MoU was signed on behalf of the RTA by HE Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the RTA; and on behalf of the Public Prosecution it was signed by HE Advisor Esam Eisa Al Humaidan, Attorney General of Dubai emirate.
