Rail Agency at Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has issued 391 offence tickets to metro users during 50 days of train operation, starting from the launch of service on 090909 till the end of October this year across 10 stations on the Red Line.

Nearly 400 passengers received tickets for committing offences on the Dubai Metro during the network’s first 50 days of operation, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has revealed.

The number of Dubai Metro passengers in the first two months of operation is about 40 percent higher than pre-launch estimates, transport bosses have said.

Her Excellency Mrs. Anne-Marie IDRAC, French Minister for Foreign Trade paid a visit to Dubai Metro where she was received upon arrival at Nakheel Harbour and Tower Station by H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), and several RTA chief executives.

Officials at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) explained two weeks ago that Dubai Metro passengers are only allowed to carry hand luggage, but they would consider increasing the luggage allowance if a significant number of users call for it.

Dubai Metro train service availability has been 98 percent and more than 95 percent of trains have run on time since the launch of the rail system in September, a senior official has announced.

RTA's Customer Service Centers Department has provided a link to Nol cards selling outlets in RTA's portal (www.rta.ae).

The RTA launched many e-services during Gitex 2009 such as the new Nol Card technologies and mParking 
service.
