The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has winded up a vehicular traffic movement plan during Eid al-Fitr holiday to cope with the needs of all community members, provide best-in-class services and enable the public to avail themselves of private/public transit means in a streamlined and hassle-free manner.
Free parking on December 2-3
Parking will be free across all paid parking zones in Dubai, except the Deira Fish Market, on December 2 and 3, in celebration of the 41st UAE National Day. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has also announced that its customer service centres and vehicle testing centres will remain closed on December 2 and 3.

Dubai Metro’s Red Line opened in September 2010, bringing 52 kilometres of travel options for Dubai residents and visitors. RTA to ease gridlock in business districts
Use of private vehicles in the Central Business Districts (CBDs) of Dubai is likely to be limited once the Green Line of the Dubai Metro becomes operational after August next year, said a senior official. "The move is part of our plan to ease traffic congestion in the old city which is the hub of commercial activities and has always witnessed massive traffic jams," said the official at the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
