This diversion, between Business Bay Metro station and interchange two, is to enable the construction of a 16-lane flyover near interchange two.

The 1km diversion will have the same number of lanes as those on Shaikh Zayed Road currently so as not to disrupt traffic movement. The tarmac on the lanes has been laid.

(RTA) officials have ensured that the diversion, will not impact traffic flow as the diversion will maintain the existing number of tracks on Shaikh Zayed Road.

This work is part of the Dh2 billion Dubai Canal project.

Once traffic in the direction of Jebel Ali is diverted, work on one side of the 850-metre flyover will begin.  More info
