The Dubai Police will step up traffic patrols around key places and deploy traffic controllers in crowded areas – like shopping malls and markets – to ensure there are no bottlenecks during Eid Al Adha holidays, said Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, director of general department of traffic at Dubai Police.
He pointed out that a plan will be put in place to tackle any type of traffic situation so that there is no congestion on the roads. Tasks will be properly distributed among the policemen and their roles defined for efficient handling of vehicular movement, Brigadier Al Mazrouei added.
He said that traffic patrols would be intensified around Eid musallas and prayer areas as well as commercial zones. Traffic flow on key roads, including Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, Sheikh Zayed Road, will also be monitored. Measures will be taken to prevent pedestrians crossing the road from undesignated places.
Areas which witnesses a huge density of vehicles and large gatherings will be under radar. These include Dubai Mall, JBR, City Walk, Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, Festival City, City Center Mirdif and so on. The aim is to regulate traffic flow and curb violations committed by some drivers and road users, the Brigadier said. More
