Watch out! Mercury is down to 16° C at Jebel Jais

Fans of adventures and lovers of nature need to be extra cautious as the mercury is down  and health risks are possible.

The high mountainous areas of Jebel Jais, the highest peak in the country is experiencing a temperature dip of as low as 16 degree Celsius.

Doctors and specialists in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah have warned the public against possible asthma and respiratory disorders that mostly result from direct exposure to cold air.

“Staying in open areas, as on top Jebel Jais where the mercury is down and temperatures descend to 16 degrees Celsius, can end in hazardous health problems, mainly respiratory disorders,” they warned.

Fog and mist covered Sweihan, Madinat Zayed and other parts of UAE. The weather department issued a warning about fog formation with poor visibility of less than 500 meters in UAE.

The temperature is like to fall on today, according to the National Center of Meteorology and Seismology. The forecast for today is fair in general during daytime, while being partly cloudy and hazy at times. More info
