Dubai residents with a penchant for luxury wheels have had a dream run this month. Showcased at the Dubai Motor Show earlier this month were some of the world’s most exclusive vehicles, including the fleet of Dubai Police supercars (featuring latest entrants Mercedes G63, Audi R8 and Nissan GT-R).

Next came the Dubai Grand Parade, which showcased ultra-luxury and vintage vehicles, including the Champion Infiniti Red Bull Racing F1 Car, the ZTR Roadster, the McLaren MP4-12C, and many more awe-inspiring supercars and jaw-dropping luxury bikes.

Now, to round up luxury road show, a model of the world’s most expensive car, crafted from a 500kg solid block of gold, will be on display at the Dubai Mall tomorrow, days before its jets out on a global roadshow – unless, of course, if you’re willing to buy it for a neat price-tag of $7.4 million, or Dh27 million tomorrow itself.

Yes, that’s the price that has been set by Lamborghini and Robert Gülpen, the car’s designer for the auction of the world’s most expensive car ever manufactured – the gold Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4. For those with a philanthropic bent of mind, rest assured that of the $7.4 million price-tag, $650,000 (Dh2.4 million) will go to charity.

And if you think that the car is all looks and no performance – well, think again. The Aventador boasts of a V12 engine and a massive 700bhp. The Aventador LP700-4 has a seven-speed transmission, and reaches 100kmph in under 3 seconds. More info
